Just wanted to give a big shout out to Mr. Gregg and Mrs. Kettenbach and all the students who helped organize our Veterans Day program. Also a big shout out to the middle school and high school kitchen staff and Mrs. Whitey Keith for the wonderful dinner they prepared for our Veterans.

Today, on the 11th hour on the 11th day, of the 11th month, we honor several Americans who have heeded the call to serve others in our community, our state, and our nation and abroad. We celebrate Veterans Day, and honor the more than 25 million Americans, living Americans, who have served in our Armed Forces.

Last call for pictures of Veterans for the PowerPoint presentation. Today (Wednesday) is the last day to bring a Veterans picture to Mrs. Colbert in the library to be included in the presentation.
November 11th – Thursday is our Veterans Day Program, this is a day we honor or Veterans and have many visitors in our building. Everyone needs to be on their best behavior. Students need to be aware that if you plan on leaving with your Veteran after the program you will need a note from your parent and that person must be on your pick up list. 11:00 is coffee/tea, 11:30 is lunch, 12:30 is lunch. Veterans can enter the doors by the lower cafeteria or the office doors. If you leave with your Veteran or parent attendance will count against you. It is 1st Chapter Reading club afterschool.

Exciting news is coming to the Library!!!! The book fair will start on Friday.
Book fair schedule is as follows.
Friday – 8am to 3:15pm
Monday, October 18th thru Wednesday, October 20th 7:45 to 3:15
Thursday October 21st 7:45 – 7:00 pm (book fair will be open during Parent Teacher Conferences) This is the last day of the book fair.
Veterans Day program will be on November 11th. If you would like to sign up to bring a Veteran to the program, you must sign up in your social studies class. You cannot share a Veteran with a friend but you can share with a sibling. You must sign up by October 27th. No late sign-ups will be accepted.
1st Quarter Incentive Field Trim for 6-8 grades will be Wednesday, November 3rd at the Main Event in Chesterfield. It has bowling, pool, arcade, ropes course, laser tag and much more. Make sure to complete all your work on time, make good choices, and get 150% of your AR goal to qualify.
Students you are not to go to the high school to purchase soda or items from the vending machines. Please make sure your locker is locked.
If you are having issues with your Chromebook, please take it to the Library and they will get it to tech to be fixed.

October 28th - Art Club Opaa! Pumpkin Painting Fun! You will be painting faces on pumpkins. It is a make and take event. Make the art and take it home that day! The first 20 to sign up will receive a free pumpkin. You can bring a pumpkin with you and there will be paint for you to use. If you sign up and need to cancel please let Mrs. Grote know so someone else can have your spot. You can bring a snack and plan to have fun. Pumpkins donated by Peno Pumpkin Patch and Prairies Edge. Event sponsors are Mrs. Grote and Food Service Director Whitney Keith. Also it is First Chapter Reading Club in the library

Attention Parents of 7th Grade Social Studies - Mr. Martinson's class is hosting a Live Museum in the MS Gym on Friday Oct 15 from 12:30-1:30. Interested parents are welcome to attend. If you wish to view the projects, please swing by the MS office and sign in.

Don't forget school pictures and sports pictures are on Thursday, October 7th. Sports pictures will be afterschool. All orders must be placed online or you can call Wagner to place an order via phone.
